5. Savannah Cat
The breeding of a Serval ( wild cat ) and domestic house cat resulted in the Savannah Cat becoming an official breed by 2001. It is eerily similar to a dog in its behaviors. They show tremendous amounts of loyalty to their owners and have been taught to walk on a leash and play fetch! They are also known to jump at least 8 feet in the air…
4. Sheep–goat hybrid
We weren't 100% sure on this one, but we did our research and it really is an existing hybrid it seems like. At the Botswana Ministry of Agriculture in 2000, a male sheep impregnated a female goat resulting in a live offspring. This hybrid had 57 chromosomes, intermediate between sheep (54) and goats (60) and was also intermediate between the two parent species in type. It had a coarse outer coat, a woolly inner coat, long goat-like legs and a heavy sheep-like body.
3. Cama
A cama is a mix between a male dromedary camel and a female llama, and has been produced via artificial insemination at the Camel Reproduction Centre in Dubai. The first cama was born on January 14, 1998. The aim was to create an animal capable of higher wool production than the llama, with the size and strength of a camel and a cooperative temperament.
2. Donkra
This hybrid is the offspring of a male donkey and female zebra. In 2011 there was a donkra born in China. It has striped zebra-like legs, a brown donkey-esque body and big black eyes.
1. Beefalo
Beefalo are a fertile hybrid offspring of domestic cattle and the American bison. The breed was purposely created to combine the best characteristics of both animals with an eye towards beef production. A USDA study showed beefalo meat, like bison meat, tended to be lower in fat and cholesterol. They are also believed to cause less damage to rangeland than cattle.
