ACM proudly award Dima Rizk the Educational Innovation: Empowering Others Award at 2017’s Positive for Youth Awards
The Academy of Contemporary Music (ACM) were proud to sponsor the Educational Innovation: Empowering Others Award at this year’s Positive for Youth Awards. Presented by Ace, the Academy’s Head of Creative Industry Development, and also the guitarist in Skunk Anansie, Dima Rizk was awarded the prize. Chosen for her work as a UN human rights activist who crafts ‘bracelets of change’ to support the building of schools around the world via her own organisation, Dima also holds the role of Gimmemo UN UK Ambassador. As a thoroughly deserving recipient, ACM were thrilled to present her with this prestigious award.
As a prize for her hard work and determination to help others, ACM have given Dima an exclusive pass to attend their September masterclasses at any ACM campus as a special guest. September is set to be jam-packed with masterclasses planned for the Academy’s ‘Freshers’ Week’- ACM hope that Dima will take away a lot from her ACM experience. Ace, Head of Creative Industry Development said, “It was such an honour to present Dima with this award. We look for drive, passion and potential in all our students at ACM and it’s something Dima has in abundance. She is an excellent role model to our students and I’m thrilled to be seeing her again at some very special masterclasses in September.”
Alongside presenting the award, ACM was very proud to see its own students Chinchilla and Nabsora perform at the Positive for Youth Awards, which were hosted at the O2 Jetty. Both delivering impeccable performances, it was clear that these acts left a real impression on the esteemed audience.
ACM still has limited spaces available on its courses in Guildford, London and Birmingham via UCAS Clearing. If you’d like to join the next generation of the music industry get in touch with their Admissions team on 01483 500 841 to discuss your options.
