Parts of Cumbria are coping with the aftermath of flooding for the third time in less than a month.
Appleby, Keswick, Kendal and Glenridding were the worst hit areas after rivers burst their banks during torrential rain.
Roy Ashley, whose garage business and home in Appleby have been inundated once again, said the flooding had destroyed lives.
He said: “It’s taken people’s homes. Some people have lost businesses.”
His wife Charlotte said: “No one’s ever seen this, it’s unbelievable.
“The water two weeks ago was above my head in the garage – you can’t deal with that kind of thing.”
Conditions have now eased, although the Met Office has already issued yellow warnings for rain throughout the region for Christmas Day and Boxing Day.
