Musician Sir Elton John and his partner David Furnish have formally “upgraded” their civil partnership to a marriage, according to a post on the Instagram social network.
Sir Elton posted: “That’s the legal bit done. Now on to the ceremony”.
The couple will host a ceremony at their Windsor estate in Berkshire later and a number of stars are expected to attend, a spokesman said.
Sir Elton and Mr Furnish tied the knot in a civil partnership in 2005.
