Sam Smith and Krept & Konan lead the way with four nominations each for this year’s Music of Black Origin (Mobo) Awards.
Both acts will battle it out for best album and best song and will also hope to be given the title of best male.
Other nominees for the London ceremony include Katy B, Rita Ora and Jessie J, who will fight to be named best female.
Tinie Tempah, Ghetts, Meridian Dan and FKA Twigs all received three nominations each for the awards.
People can vote in any of the categories including best grime, which is being introduced this year in association with BBC Radio 1Xtra.
The list for the awards’ newest category were selected by a panel and include grime DJs, bloggers, radio staff and industry experts.
The Mobos, which are in their 19th year, will be broadcast on ITV2 on 22 October.
Beyonce, Chris Brown and Pharrell are among those up for best international act while Jess Glynne, Kwabs and Raleigh Ritchie are up for the coveted best newcomer award.
Previous Mobo winners include Amy Winehouse, Craig David, Ms Dynamite, Estelle, N-Dubz and Emeli Sande.
There are 14 categories in total, with awards handed out for best jazz, gospel and reggae act.
