E3 ENTERTAINMENT PRESENTS ‘TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF’,
A DEBUT EP FROM UPCOMING RAPPER, SINGER-SONGWRITER JULES.
TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF EP
The ‘Take Care of Yourself’ EP project marks many firsts for Jules. Not only is it her first extended play, but she successfully organised, hosted and performed her first ever launch night at Kingston Environment Centre in February. Through a set-list that resembled the tradition in marriage of “something old, something new”, Jules powerfully reinforced that mental health exists and should not be a stigma. The launch was also broadcast and streamed live on Kingston Green Radio and 10% of the ticket and merchandise proceedings were donated to her local Mind centre.
Everything on the EP is a chapter. Presented as a cycle, it reflects Jules’ personal story with mental health and portrays how it can affect individuals or groups of people. Recorded in the home of E3 Entertainment studios, ‘Take Care of Yourself’ holds a variety of colours and flavours in its sound and lyrics. From the fast paced first single ‘Bad Day’ released in February this year, to the punchy ‘All or Nothing’ featuring E3 Entertainment’s founder, producer, DJ and artist Sterling Reigns and not forgetting the final song, ‘Breathe’, elaborating a key message with the help of hip hop artist BREIS and singers Lauren and Keira.
“Each song has its own importance, and it is absolutely vital that we take the time to look after ourselves.” – Jules
Hailing from a small rural town of South East London; rapper, songwriter and singer Jules depicts her stories and experiences through lyrical rhymes and experimental melodies.
Proud of her Chinese ethnicity, Jules is ready to shake up the world of hip hop with her unique tone and style. Her number one aim is to spread hope to others through her music. From a very young age, music has been her destiny. Listening to her parent’s wide collection of cassette tapes and standing on her living room sofa singing along to her favourite artists on the TV, there is no question that there are influences drawn from all genres in her work. She released two mixtapes between 2013 – 2016 and was a semi finalist for The UK Songwriting Contest in 2016 with her song “BABY (24:7)”. After almost a year away from music, she returned with a stronger and compelling sound, with her debut EP ‘Take Care of Yourself’ in March 2018, and has recently received radio play on Canadian radio (93.3 CFMU).
