24 June 2015
From the section England
Hundreds of potential offenders have been identified in an investigation into child sex abuse in Rotherham, the National Crime Agency (NCA) has said.
The inquiry, named Operation Stovewood, began last December in the wake of the Jay report which estimated there were 1400 victims of abuse in the town between 1997 and 2013.
Senior investigators describe the abuse in Rotherham as “horrendous” and say they are investigating “very disturbing events”.
