A record £35.1m Lotto jackpot – the biggest prize ever won in the UK game – has been claimed by a single winner, operator Camelot has said.
A single ticket-holder matched the winning numbers 50, 57, 31, 17, 41 and 15 to win £35,133,888.
The National Lottery said it was delighted the winner had come forward to claim the “life-changing win”.
The winnings are the biggest ever claimed, beating two winners who shared a £66m jackpot in January.
One of the winning tickets was claimed by David and Carol Martin, a couple living in the Scottish Borders. The other winner remained anonymous.
The previous record was a jackpot of £22.5 million, claimed by two business partners from St Leonards-on-Sea in 1995.
