
Glastonbury: The Libertines play surprise set

The rain began falling on Friday afternoon
The Libertines are playing Glastonbury Festival after being revealed as the “secret” guests who are performing before Florence and the Machine.
They are filling the gap that was left vacant when Florence was moved replace Foo Fighters in the headline slot.
Organisers had tried to keep the identity of the the guests secret, but Pete Doherty and Carl Barat’s indie band posted confirmation on Instagram.
Parts of the site have become muddy following rain on Friday afternoon.
The weather is expected to brighten up on Saturday, but more rain is forecast for Saturday night and Sunday.
Other acts performing on the festival’s first full day have included heavy rock veterans Motorhead, R&B star Mary J Blige, blues rockers Alabama Shakes and pop star Lulu.
The Libertines’ appearance comes ahead of their headline slots at the T in the Park and Reading and Leeds festivals later this summer.
